The Dunbarton Police Department proudly serves a community of 2,758 (2010 Census) year-round residents, which increases during the summer months. It is located in Merrimack County and is surrounded by the towns of Bow, Weare, Hopkinton, Goffstown and Hooksett. There are 30.9 square miles of land and .5 miles of inland waterways to include Kimball Pond, Gorham Pond, Long Pond, Stark Pond and Purgatory Pond. State routes 77 and 13 run through Dunbarton. These are major routes that lead into Concord, Weare, Goffstown and Manchester and provide a heavy commuter presence. There are numerous woodland trails and access ways which provide a significant presence of hikers, hunters, mountain bikers and those who enjoy snowmobiles and ATV's. The scenic atmosphere and abundance of hills is a favorite of competitive bike riders.

The Police Department consists of 7 sworn members to include 3 full time officers and 4 part time officers. The department also has 3 auxiliary (volunteer) officers, a department chaplain and an office administrator. Our dispatch services are provided by the Bow Police Department, who also dispatches for the Bow, Weare and New Boston Police Departments. Our agency has mutual aid compacts with the towns of Bow, Hopkinton, Weare, Goffstown, New Boston and Hooksett.

Our Mission: Provide responsive and professional law enforcement service to our community.

Our Vision: We will strive to be an accredited leader in law enforcement, to focus on the practice of problem solving and community policing initiatives in partnership with our community, and to be progressive and forward-thinking leaders in our community.

Our Values: Service, respect, integrity & pride.
