Dunbarton Police Investigate Series of Residential Burglaries

Officers from the Dunbarton Police Department are currently investigating three residential burglaries that have taken place in a two week span. On Friday October 7th officers responded to a home on Devils Steps Road for a report that a home had been burglarized between the hours of 3:15 PM and 4:30 PM. Entry to the home was gained through an unlocked door. The suspect(s) took a large amount of jewelry during this burglary.  An older model light gray pick up truck was seen in the area earlier in the day. It is unclear if this vehicle is connected to the crime or not.

On Monday October 17th between the hours of 11:30 AM and 3:55 PM, burglar(s) entered a home through an unlocked door on Barnard Hill Road. A large amount of jewelry was taken during this burglary. A neighbor reported seeing a white utility van in the neighborhood several days prior to the burglary.

On Wednesday October 19th officers responded to a home on Long Pond Road for a report of a residential burglary. This crime took place between the hours of 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM.  A variety of jewelry, credit cards and collectible fountain pens were stolen during this burglary. Again, in this case the suspect(s) entered the home through an unlocked door.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Officer Christopher Remillard or Officer Gary Guevin at the Dunbarton Police Department 603-774-5500. Officers are working with neighboring police departments who are investigating a series of similar burglaries in their communities. Residents are urged to lock their windows and doors and to report any suspicious activity to the police.
