The Dunbarton Police Department utilizes a non-emergency/business line of (603) 774-5500. If you call this number and your call isn't answered within approximately four (4) rings or the line is busy, your call will automatically be transferred to our communications center and answered by a live dispatcher. If a caller needs police action or needs to speak to an officer, they are asked to call our 24-hour Dunbarton Police Dispatch number directly at (603) 224-1232, not our non-emergency/business line.
I've been given a date to appear in court, what does that mean?
A court date is issued to someone who has been issued a "must appear" motor vehicle citation, been issued an arraignment date following a physical arrest or has been issued an arraignment date on a summons in lieu of a physical arrest. Dunbarton Police utilize court dates of Monday mornings at 8:15. An arraignment date is an opportunity for someone to plea guilty, not guilty or nolo contendre (no contest). Defendants will have the opportunity to speak with a prosecutor at their arraignment. The address to Concord District Court is 32 Clinton Street in Concord, NH. The court can be reached at 1-855-212-1234.
I'd like to speak to a prosecutor about my case and/or request discovery, how do I go about doing so?
The Dunbarton Police Department contracts with the Concord City Prosecutor's Office to prosecute misdemeanor and violation level offenses. The Concord City Prosecutor's Office website, which includes their contact information, can be viewed here.
All felony level cases are prosecuted by the Merrimack County Attorney's Office. They may be reached at (603) 228-0529 or by mail at 4 Court Street, Concord NH 03301.
Requests for discovery should be directed to the respective prosecutor's office. We do not handle discovery requests.

How do I obtain a restraining order?
Restraining orders, otherwise known as emergency, temporary or final orders of protection relating to domestic violence and stalking, are available by the following methods:
If you feel you are in imminent danger of an abuser, please contact the Dunbarton Police Department at (603) 224-1232. A Dunbarton Police Officer will assist you in applying for an emergency order of protection. Emergency orders are requested when the district court is closed. Emergency orders are valid until closing time of the following business day of the circuit court system. For example, if an emergency order is granted at 8:00 PM on a Monday night, the order would be valid until 4:00 PM on Tuesday afternoon.
If you are looking to extend an emergency order of protection or would like to try and obtain a temporary order of protection during the court's regular business hours, you may apply for a temporary order of protection through the district court that has jurisdiction where you live. For Dunbarton residents: the circuit court in which you can apply for a temporary order of protection is Concord District Court, which is located at 32 Clinton Street in Concord. They may be reached at 1-855-212-1234. Temporary orders of protection are generally valid for 30 days. Final orders of protection are granted by a judge following a hearing. They are valid for 1 year.
